Downed Wire, Don't touch, Call 911

Note from Traci Park, CD11 Councilmember. A recently completed Los Angeles Department of Water & Power (LADWP) pole inspection and maintenance program has identified 795 power poles out of 300,000 in the City of Los Angeles that require "Priority 1" repairs, which means that these poles were identified as needing repairs to ensure public safety. LADWP is delivering letters and door hangers to notify residents and businesses who are impacted. This work will be conducted over the next two weeks and may involve repairs or replacement of electrical distribution equipment attached to the pole, high voltage wires and attachments, or replacement and repair of the pole itself. My office is in close contact with LADWP, and they will provide us with progress reports on the repairs. If you see any downed wires immediately call 911 and use caution around electrical equipment.
